Many fans may recognize model turned actress Lunden De’Leon from her appearance in over 50 movies and television shows including the Netflix film “Blackbear”, the Hallmark feel-good movie “Sweet Home Carolina” and the hit comedy “We’re the Millers” starring Jennifer Aniston. Nowadays, whenever the South Carolina native walks into her local supermarket, people thank her.
“People are coming up to me thanking me for running for City Council,” says De’Leon. ”They’re telling me they’ve been praying for a change in the community and this could be it.”
Recently announcing her run for City Council in her hometown of Mullins, South Carolina, years ago, De’Leon packed her bags leaving Hollywood for the small tobacco town of around 5,000 people where she spends most of her time volunteering for charitable organizations that’s important to her.
“I’m running for City Council because I deeply care about my community,” says De’Leon. “I came back home to give back. I’m blessed and believe in blessing others.”
Not long ago, De’Leon was nominated Best Leading Actress for her role in the drama “Pure Justice”. She soon joined the cast of the psychological thriller “Broken Halos” portraying the wife of a slain cop.
“Broken Halos is getting rave reviews on the festival circuit,” says De’Leon. “It has a lot of twists and turns so everyone’s in for a treat.”
“Broken Halos” is produced by G! It’s Entertainment, a film production company based in Los Angeles and South Carolina with films airing on Lifetime and Hallmark. Elections for De’Leon is November 3rd.
